Gather yourself up and get moving
Are you feeling ready to get moving with life again?
Like you’ve been in hunker down, healing mode for a while and now an energy to imagine new things for yourself has awakened?
This is such a beautiful place to be in. Where you’re bridging healing, on one side, and action towards blossoming into the next phase of your life, on the other side.
It’s a mirror of the larger cycle of life: creation, maintenance (action) and destruction.
I’ve been very aware of this cycle as I’ve been sick with covid for the last few days (nothing major, mostly just cold/flu symptoms).
I’ve moved from being flattened out on the couch (destruction phase) to being ready to regroup and plan my week (creation phase). I’ve even written this email and taken some other actions in my business today (maintenance mode).
When we experience a challenge in life, the overall cycle looks much the same.
At first, we focus all our attention on the challenge. Sometimes it feels like emergency (or panic) mode where we’re just trying to stay afloat.
Then, we either settle into healing mode, giving ourselves space and care or we try to ignore it and battle on (although, this second approach usually extends the healing process much much longer).
Then, you feel ready to entertain “what’s next?”. You might still feel fragile and uncertain, and in need of support, but a drive to move forward bubbles up inside of you.
From here, you begin to take action. Sometimes it’s messy and far from a straight line, but it’s all in service of creating the next phase of your life.
And as you continue to take action, learning along the way, you begin to embody a greater version of yourself.
Can you see this cycle happening in your own life? Where are you at within it?
This cycle is also the underlying process of my coaching. We heal what needs healing, we identify who you want to be and what you want to create, then I help you take action to create that vision.
The process isn’t always linear but it is always in the direction of you stepping more into yourself, whether that means better relationships, work that you love or playing bigger in your life.
If you’d like to brainstorm what you want this next year to look like, I invite you to sign up for a free brainstorm session with me. It’s a 50 minute phone call where we put together a plan to help you know what to do so that you can create what you want this year.
P.S. If you’d like to create some space for healing and connecting to your inner wisdom, join me next week for a free January Pause restorative yoga class. Learn more and register here.
