The Sketchbook Project

Sketch Book Project 2011

Sketch Book Project 2011

I arrived from a long weekend at the beach to find actual physical mail waiting for me, a small yellow envelope that contained an empty sketch book. With a blank cover, front and back and 40 clean white pages for me to fill with drawings of what the theme “if you lived here” means to me. It will be my first attempt at a sketch book project of the art house coop, a Brooklyn, New York, based organization that puts together all kinds of interesting projects open to artists world wide. I’ll be working on the 2011 Project, which is extra special because:

Thousands of sketchbooks will be exhibited at galleries and museums as they make their way on tour across the country.

After the tour, all sketchbooks will enter into the permanent collection of The Brooklyn Art Library, where they will be barcoded and available for the public to view.

Pretty cool. I’m looking forward to exploring what living in São Paulo means to me. For all my artist friends, I definitely recommend at taking a look at the website. There several different project open now and more to come.
